Audit what transfers
Project management, client relationships, budgeting, mentoring, and writing all move across industries. List your accomplishments and strip out the industry jargon. What remains is your transferable core.
Bridge, do not leap
The cleanest transitions happen sideways. Find roles that value your current expertise but sit inside your target field. A teacher moving into edtech, for instance, is far more credible than a teacher moving into pure software engineering overnight.
Fund the transition

- Take on freelance work in the new field while still employed
- Invest in one focused credential, not five scattered ones
